Product Testing
Each lot of Pre~seed™ is carefully screened to assure a fertility-friendly environment before it is released for sale. To our knowledge, INGfertility is the only lubricant manufacturer that performs "Lot Release" testing on each batch to ensure that it’s product will relieve vaginal dryness while providing an optimal environment for sperm.

Each lot is tested to ensure:

  1. pH between 7.1 - 7.4
  2. Osmolarity between 260 and 365 mOsmo/kg
  3. No harm to Mouse Embryos: assures that greater than 85% of one cell mouse embryos develop to the blastocyst stage when cultured with Pre~Seed™.
  4. Sperm-friendliness: freshly ejaculated human sperm are cultured with Pre~Seed™ in media to ensure that the percentage of swimming sperm, and their swimming speed is not negatively affected by the Pre~Seed™.
  5. Culture to ensure there are NO pathogen (nasty) bacteria

Pre~Seed™ has been clinically tested for irritation in people, with results showing no evidence of reactivity or irritation. In fact, an independent study by Ghent University, found our formula to cause NO membrane irritation, whereas KY™, Replens™, and Astroglide™ all caused irritation.

Pre~Seed™ is made under contract for INGfertility™ Valleyford, Washington at Unicep Packaging in Idaho. Unicep is a registered facility for packaging of drugs and devices, and it has the highest international quality certification of ISO 9001 2000. Upon arrival in New Zealand the distributors package individual applicators into the distinctive New Zealand cartoons in order to comply with New Zealand’s unique regulative requirements.

Regulative
Pre~Seed™ and Pre have been classified as Class 2A Medical Devices in New Zealand by Medsafe Ministry of Health on account of their therapeutic purpose which is clinically supported. Notification in NZ Pre~Seed 090331-WAND-66HV81, Pre 090331-WAND-66HVDW.

Both lubricants are the first and currently ONLY lubricants that have clearance from the FDA to claim that they:

  • are safe for use by couples who are trying to conceive;
  • don’t harm sperm or embryos; and
  • are appropriate for use during fertility interventions, such as:
  1. intrauterine insemination
  2. in vitro fertilization
  3. embryo transfer
  4. transvaginal oocyte collection
